So, I attempted to hunt down a deleted email today. Figured out what file I needed to open, seized up notepad. Tried to open it up in Word, but was told it couldn't open a file larger than 250 MB. Curious, I took a closer look at these deleted emails, only to find out that this deleted collection of text based emails weighed in at a whopping 832 MB of space. Went after it in Ubuntu to no avail. Did some searching on line, found a program that can read large text files. Finally got a look at these deleted files - starting in 2009, I found old emails that I had completely forgot about. Running the search function, I forced it to give up around 1M lines in. Dragged the slider down towards the lower part of the file, ran the search again. It picked back up at 14M lines in. Finally, found the email in question. Exported it to a new file, made the changes to it, put it back in the folder. had to go back to Windows to try it out. Get into windows, fire up my email program, not only is file not there, but inbox is empty. *sigh*
