The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas; I just re-read it for the fifteenth or so time and I can honestly say it is the only book with a main female character that I truly find enjoyable. Also I hate most women authors for some reason; probably the fits of hysteria they are prone to.
As a side note the most common reason for medieval abortions: "Cats in the Stomach." Hence the folk sayings "birthing kittens" and its ilk.

probably the fits of hysteria they are prone to. I actually got done reading a book dealing with this very topic! The Technology of Orgasm:"Hysteria," the Vibrator, and Women's Sexual Satfiaction"The book generally sucked, but it did raise of interesting questions. In fact, the author claimed that 9 out of 10 women do not receive an "orgasm" from conventional contemporary sex. Moreover, the militant feminist also argued that the only reason why women still engage in typical coitus is because the patriarchal society where men feel the need to dominate women... A bunch of shit really, but interesting no less. Aside from books for my sexuality class, I have been reading the book "The Reader." I came across the movie of the book while doing research for my Honors Thesis. Thus far it seems alright. I will give a little better review of the book when I get done reading.

Why did I figure it was going to be just a matter of time before someone started discussing Hitler or female orgasms? Thanks a lot Rarcher, two birds with one stone. ;D

Actually, you're the first one to mention Hitler Mr. Lankylurker! No where in the 150 pages of the book (that I have read thus far) had Hitler been mentioned! So you get the award for Hitler, and I get the one for female orgasms! And here's your reward! www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFldBVWFgWo

Actually, you're the first one to mention Hitler Mr. Lankylurker! Actually I believe I was the first to mention Hitler a day or two ago in the movie thread. Regardless though, the female orgasm is a great basis for fiction.

Classic '90's futuristic sci-fi. This is the trilogy, while Swann has written a fourth book in the series, along with seven or eight books further forward in time.
